Photographic print or giclée — what the difference means
Photographic work is printed on premium photographic paper, which holds a long tonal range and renders fine shadow detail the way the photographer graded it. It suits images that live on contrast and texture — architecture, monochrome, landscape.
Most mixed-media work is giclée on canvas instead: pigment inks laid onto a woven surface, which keeps the brush and collage texture of the original visible rather than flattening it behind a gloss. Neither is the better process in the abstract; each belongs to the kind of image it was chosen for, and the medium is stated on every product page.
